Recipe for Boiled Beef Stew

This stew contains beef chunks and vegetables boiled together in a large pot.

Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram beef chuck, cubed
  • 1.5 Liters water
  • 2 onions
  • 2 bell peppers
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 10 grams salt
  • 10 grams fresh cilantro

Preparation

  1. Place the beef cubes in a pot and cover with 1.5 Liters water
  2. Bring to a boil and simmer for sixty minutes until the meat softens
  3. Add the whole onions, peppers, and tomatoes to the pot with the beef
  4. Continue simmering for another forty-five minutes until all the vegetables are very soft
  5. Season the broth with salt and garnish with a handful of fresh cilantro
  6. Serve the beef and vegetables in deep plates with some of the broth

Tips

  • Use a cut of beef with some fat to ensure the meat stays tender
  • Do not stir the pot frequently to keep the vegetables from breaking apart
  • Serve with a side of spicy peppers for a more traditional flavor profile
