Recipe for Chicken Doner Lavash Wrap

Sliced chicken with fresh vegetables and sauce wrapped in a thin flatbread.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 400 grams chicken thighs
  • 30 milliliters olive oil
  • 5 grams salt
  • 5 grams garlic powder
  • 5 grams oregano

Wrap

  • 2 large lavash flatbreads
  • 100 grams cabbage, shredded
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 60 milliliters garlic sauce

Preparation

Cooking

  1. Mix the chicken with oil and spices then fry in a hot pan
  2. Cook for ten minutes until the chicken is browned and fully cooked
  3. Slice the meat into very thin strips using a sharp kitchen knife

Assembly

  1. Lay the flatbread on a clean surface and spread the garlic sauce
  2. Add a layer of shredded cabbage, sliced tomatoes, and the red onions
  3. Place the chicken strips on top and roll the bread into a cylinder

Toasting

  1. Heat the wrapped roll in a dry pan for two minutes per side
  2. The bread should be crispy and the internal ingredients should be warm
  3. Slice the wrap in half and serve immediately while the bread is crunchy

Tips

  • Use chicken thighs because they stay much juicier than chicken breast meat
  • Squeeze the wrapped roll tightly to ensure the ingredients do not fall out
  • Add pickled peppers inside the wrap for an extra kick of acidity
