Recipe for Pan-Fried Sausages with Onions

Pork sausages fried in a pan with sliced onions until the vegetables are caramelized.

Ingredients

  • 8 pork sausages
  • 3 large onions
  • 30 milliliters vegetable oil
  • 30 grams butter
  • 2 grams salt
  • 2 grams black pepper

Preparation

  1. Slice the onions into thin half moons and set them aside carefully
  2. Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the sausages
  3. Cook for ten minutes until the sausages are browned and fully cooked
  4. Remove the meat and add the onions and butter to the pan
  5. Sauté the onions on medium heat for fifteen minutes until dark brown
  6. Return the sausages to the pan and season with salt and pepper

Tips

  • Cook the onions slowly to ensure they become sweet and dark brown
  • Add a splash of water if the onions begin to stick to pan
  • Prick the sausages with a fork to prevent the skins from bursting
