Ingredients
Main Drink
- 1 lime, cut into wedges
- 2 tsp white granulated sugar
- 60ml cachaça
- 150g crushed ice
Preparation
Mixing
- Place the lime wedges and sugar into a sturdy rocks glass
- Use a muddler to press down firmly on the limes for 30 seconds to release the juice and essential oils from the peel
- Fill the glass to the brim with crushed ice
- Pour 60ml of cachaça over the ice and stir vigorously with a spoon for 15 seconds to dissolve the sugar
Tips
- Roll the lime on the counter with your palm before cutting to soften the membranes and yield more juice
- Use white granulated sugar rather than brown sugar to maintain the bright and clear aesthetic of the drink
- Always use crushed ice instead of cubes to ensure the drink stays ice-cold and the dilution is balanced
