Recipe for Strawberry Pierogi Dumplings
These dough parcels are filled with fresh strawberries and served with a dollop of cream.

Dough
- 500 grams flour
- 250 milliliters warm water
- 1 egg
- 30 grams butter
- 2 grams salt
Filling
- 400 grams fresh strawberries
- 50 grams sugar

Dough
- Mix the flour, water, egg, butter, and salt to form a soft dough
- Knead for ten minutes and rest for thirty minutes under a clean cloth
- Roll the dough thin and cut into circles with a round cookie cutter
Cooking
- Slice the strawberries into small pieces if they are too large for circles
- Place one piece of fruit and a pinch of sugar on each circle
- Fold the dough over and press the edges together to seal the fruit
- Boil the dumplings in a pot of water until they float and simmer for two minutes
Tips
- Use small strawberries whole if possible to keep the juice inside the dumpling dough
- Do not add sugar to the berries too early as they will release liquid
- Make sure the water is at a rolling boil before adding the first dumplings
