Recipe for Mexican Carne Asada Tacos

These Mexican tacos are made with grilled flank steak served in corn tortillas with salsa.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 kilogram flank steak
  • 60 milliliters lime juice
  • 30 milliliters olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 5 grams cumin

Tacos

  • 12 corn tortillas
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 10 grams fresh cilantro
  • 2 limes

Preparation

Marinade

  1. Mix the lime juice, oil, garlic, and cumin in a large bowl
  2. Coat the steak in the mixture and refrigerate for thirty minutes
  3. Prepare the onion and cilantro garnish while the meat is marinating

Grill

  1. Heat the grill to high heat and cook the steak for five minutes
  2. Flip and cook until the meat reaches your desired level of doneness
  3. Let the steak rest for ten minutes then slice against the grain

Assembly

  1. Warm the corn tortillas on the grill for thirty seconds per side
  2. Fill each tortilla with the steak, diced onion, and fresh cilantro
  3. Serve the tacos with fresh lime wedges and your favorite hot salsa
