Recipe for Authentic Greek Horiatiki Salad
This Greek salad consists of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers, olives, and feta cheese with oil.

Ingredients
- 4 large ripe tomatoes
- 1 cucumber
- 1 red onion
- 1 green bell pepper
- 100 grams kalamata olives
- 200 grams feta cheese block
- 60 milliliters extra virgin olive oil
- 15 milliliters red wine vinegar
- 5 grams dried oregano
- 2 grams salt
Preparation
- Wash all vegetables thoroughly under cold water
- Cut tomatoes and cucumbers into large chunks
- Slice the red onion and green pepper into thin rings
- Combine vegetables and olives in a shallow bowl
- Drizzle with 60 milliliters olive oil and 15 milliliters vinegar
- Season with salt and oregano
- Place the whole block of feta on top of the salad
- Garnish with extra oregano and a splash of oil before serving
Tips
- Use only high-quality Greek extra virgin olive oil for the best flavor
- Do not add lettuce as it is never used in an authentic Horiatiki
- Choose the ripest tomatoes available for the most juice and sweetness
